Marcel Breuer was commissioned by modernist enthusiast Dorothea Ventris to design the interior of her residence at the now Grade I listed Highpoint building in Highgate, London. The Breuer Sofa made up part of a collection of free-standing and built-in furniture specially designed to organise the space. Only one sofa and two armchairs were made in 1936 but the sought-after design is still made today.
