Shell Chair

The Shell Chair is a continuation of Barber & Osgerby’s explorations in form and structure. Fascinated by creating a structural form from folded sheet material, the design duo were looking to create a paper-thin chair that could deliver on not only strength but also comfort. Evolving from studies in folding, the finished design demonstrates physical and visual lightness, as well as an absence of mechanical fixings.
